Smegmar Clamidea, commonly known as Wartcock, was a mage specialized in poison magic. Born in Year of the Gods 1414 to parents and siblings Sugoma and Ihrana Clamidea in Southern Syphilia City, he would become fascinated with magic at a very young age, as his father Sugoma performed his experiments on him.
While not much is known of his childhood, some of his father, Sugoma Clamidea’s, research notes have survived, giving a glimpse into the faecal torment young Smegmar must have gone through. His mother and aunt, Ihrana, died in an experiment when Wartcock was 4 years old, leaving him an only child.
Following in the footsteps of his father, Wartcock reluctantly attended the South Syphilia School of Magic, a general wizarding academy with a subpar reputation. As honours from an endorsed school were required to earn money as a mage within the Kingdom of Syphilia, he had no real choice in the matter, and this was the only establishment within his reach.
Following his graduation from the South Syphilia School of Magic at the age of 18, Wartcock took on a task as a battle mage in a party escorting a merchant from Syphilia City to Meatdall. Halfway through the journey, after a week of monotonous walking and defeating petty creatures, Wartcock grew tired of the adventurer’s life. He took the lives and possessions of his party, forged a deal with a Daemon with their blood, and returned home.
Certain that his years of studying dusty tomes, repeating age old, uninspired spells and dwelling in the has-beens, instead of breaking new ground in the world of magic, had been a waste of his time, Wartcock slaughtered the teaching staff of the South Syphilia School of Magic.
